Info

Hi, I’m Henry Egloff, and I’m a multimedia artist, designer, and teacher, based in Byron Bay, Australia. I specialise in building dynamic and interactive media for the web, encompassing 3D, animation, games, apps, and digital art. I also develop tutorials and learning resources centred around web development, 3D modelling, animation, game development, and coding.

I hold a BA in Design (RMIT, 1996) and have been working as a professional graphic designer since the late ’90s, which according to AI makes me a “veteran”. My career has centered around interface design, animation, 3D, coding, and web development, starting with Macromedia Director, CD-ROMs, and ActionScript, progressing to Flash, HTML tables, PHP, JavaScript, and Node.js etc.

Highlights of my career include holding lead design roles for companies in Sydney and London, as well as experiencing the dot-com tech bubble in San Francisco as a Flash developer. There, I had the opportunity to build websites for several famous musicians including Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shankar, Quincy Jones, Greg Errico (from Sly and the Family Stone) and Meshell Ndegeocello. - One of my sites received a Macromedia Flash Site of Day award (2000).

Back in Australia, I have been running my own design consultancy since the early 2000s, specialising in branding, graphic design, and web development. In recent years however I’ve shifted away from this type of work to focus on Three.js, web app, and game development projects. Since 2007 I’ve also been teaching part-time at the TAFE North Coast Institute of technology. Currently I teach design, 3D modelling, coding, and game development at the Lismore, Wollongbar, and Byron Bay campuses.

I love designing and building immersive, dynamic, and engaging media. I’m also very much into UI, UX, typography, generative art, generative audio, and performance optimisation.

Currently, the tools and frameworks that I use the most include Three.js, Astro, Blender, and Tone.js, however I’m also well versed with Unreal Engine, Unity, Adobe software, and a range of coding languages.

You can find me in most of the usual places online such as LinkedIn, Reddit, Codepen, Behance, Github, and Artstation, however, these days I’m most active on X, Instagram, and Youtube.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch for whatever reason. You can message me via one of the social media networks listed above, or email me directly at contact@henryegloff.com.
